La fondation de cette paroisse remonte au 24 avril 1908. De sa fondation à la construction de l'église, les services religieux eurent lieu dans une crypte. L'église actuelle, en pierre, fut construite en 1918-39 selon les plans des architectes René-Rodolphe Tourville et Lucien Parent.
L'orgue
Un premier instrument a été installé lors de l'inauguration de la crypte. Il s'agissait d'un Casavant à traction tubulaire de 16 jeux répartis sur 2 claviers et pédalier. Le premier organiste fut Rodolphe Mathieu, alors âgé de 17 ans.
Cet instrument a été vendu en 1939 à la paroisse Notre-Dame-de-la-Visitation de Champlain (près de Trois-Rivières) pour faire place à l'instrument actuel.

The parish was established on April 24, 1908. Until the construction of the church, liturgical services were held in a crypt. The actual stone church was built in 1938-39 on plans prepared by architects René-Rodolphe Tourville and Lucien Parent.
The organ
A first instrument was installed when the crypt used during the first days of the parish. It was a tubular action Casavant organ with 16 stops over 2 manuals and pedal. The first organist was Rodolphe Mathieu, then aged 17.
This instrument was sold in 1939 to Notre-Dame-de-la-Visitation parish in Champlain (near Trois-Rivières) to make room for the actual instrument.
